VIETNAM. Swedish beauty technology company Foreo has struck a partnership with IMEX Pan Pacific Group (IPPG) to expand the brand’s travel retail network in Vietnam. The partnership will see new Foreo placements at Tân Sơn Nhất International Airport and Landmark 81 Department Store, both in Ho Chi Minh City; Tràng Tiền Plaza and Nội Bài International Airport in Hanoi; and Da Nang airport. The partners plan to open 29 counters — across five domestic outlets and 24 airports — in Vietnam this year.

IMEX Pan Pacific Group (IPPG) is a pioneer in luxury retail in Vietnam. It was founded by Jonathan Hanh Nguyen in 1985 and controls some 70% of Vietnam’s luxury market.

Its portfolio includes over 108 international prestige brands such as Cartier, Bvlgari, Salvatore Ferragamo, Burberry, Versace and Dolce & Gabbana.

Since its establishment, IPPG has acquired 17 subsidiaries and 18 joint ventures including the licence to operate at airport duty free stores with DFS and Lotte Duty Free. IPPG currently operates in 38 stores across five airports in Vietnam.
Subsidiary IPP Travel Retail operates a range of stores, food & beverage outlets and advertising services at Tân Sơn Nhất, Nội Bài, Da Nang and Phú Quốc airports as well as land border duty free shops.

As reported, South Korean travel retail giant Lotte Duty Free signed a contract with IPPG to open a 1,598sq m duty free store at the upscale Tràng Tiền Plaza in the centre of Hanoi last December.

Commenting on the partnership, Foreo Global Travel Retail Director Gary Leong said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be partnering with such a significant player in Vietnam’s travel retail industry. As a pioneer of the Vietnamese luxury market, IPPG definitely has the experience and know-how to carry our beloved brand to becoming a leader in the local market.

“It is indeed a perfect match, and Foreo will work hand-in-hand with IPPG in its expansion this year to develop over 29 retail placements in Vietnam.”

“We are delighted and excited to be chosen as a travel retail partner of Foreo in Vietnam,” commented IPP Travel Retail CEO Phillip Nguyen. “We are excited for the opportunity to grow the demand for Foreo through IPP Travel Retail outlets in five major domestic outlets, and soon in 24 domestic airport counters.”

Foreo Global Travel Retail Director Gary Leong says that IPPG is “a perfect match” for the brand and hopes to leverage the latter’s luxury retail know-how to effectively seed Foreo in the Vietnamese market
